Registration for Grades 1-7 May 15 onsite madrassah

Alhamdulillah, we have started planning for an onsite madrassah day for Grades 1-7, inshaAllah, on May 15, 2022, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm.

This in person workshop is for Al-Haadi students in Grades 1-7 only, and is being planned to be conducted instead of online classes.  All students are expected to attend and attendance will be taken just as they would normally attend the online classes.  The topic is on ‘Being a Resilient Muslim’ and it is very relevant for grades1-7.  There will, inshaAllah, be crafts and fun activities for Grades 1-4 and also breakout sessions on topics such as Bulugh, common errors in Salaat & Wudhu, etc. and for Grades 5-7 students. InshaAllah, a pizza lunch will be provided and students will have time to reconnect with each other.

As a lot of effort and materials are required to hold this type of event and to ensure majority of students will benefit from it, we plan to hold this in person event provided 65% or more students will attend. Parents of Grades 1-7 students, please use the link below and submit the registration form by Sunday, April 2nd to indicate whether or not your child(ren) will attend; submit a separate form for each child. We will confirm in April if the event will be held based on responses received. Parents of students in Grades 1-7, please do not delay in submitting your response.  No action is required of parents of students in Grades 8-12.

Community Service Award Update

As mentioned in prior updates, the Al-Haadi Study Centre Community Service Award is intended to recognize students who volunteer at Al-Haadi or other organizations August, 2021 – April, 2022.  We are approaching the last month for this year’s award and the month of Ramadhan is a very good time to volunteer at the different centres for the nightly programs.  Let us know if you would like suggestions on volunteering activities. Please encourage child(ren) to volunteer and keep track of hours. A form will be posted in Dinyat Google Classrooms by end of April, in order to apply for the award.

Tips for Success

Establish a practise of showing gratitude to Allah (swt): at dinner time or bedtime, share with your child(ren) one thing you are thankful to Allah (swt) for, and encourage child(ren) to share what each is grateful for, perhaps related to something that happened that day or a general thing, picking different ones each day. This will help establish a connection and love for Allah (swt), reinforce that He is our Sustainer, and set up a habit that hopefully will carry on when the children are older.

If you have any tips you would like to share with parents, please send them to admin@al-haadi.ca, subject “Tips for Success”.
