Shortened Schedule for Holy Month of Ramadhan
April 2: Classes start at 12 noon sharp; please arrive by 11:50 am
Grade 1-3 classes end at 2:15pm; Grade 4-12 classes end at 2:30 pm

There will be no pizza lunches during the month of Ramadhan. Parents are requested to send snack/lunch for child(ren) as required.

April 2nd Event

Alhamdulillah, we are blessed to have the opportunity to conduct two sessions on April 2nd. May Allah (swt) reward the efforts of presenters and all volunteers helping to conduct the session. We hope parents will take advantage of these sessions.

Both sessions are for all parents and the 1st session is for Grades 1-8 students as well. Parents & students, please arrive by 11:50 am and accompany children in Grades 1-8 downstairs to Marhaba Hall so we can start promptly at 12 noon.

Students in Grades 1A – 8A to turn right after entering from Door #6 and use stairs near Door #1 to go to Marhaba Hall. Students in classes 1B – 8B to use the centre stairs near Door #6. Students to sit in designated area for their class.

Agenda:
12 – 12:30 pm – for parents, students in Grades 1-8 & volunteers: “Instillling the love of Quran” by Br. Imranali Khaki
12:35 – 1:25 pm – for parents & volunteers: “How to talk so kids will listen & how to listen so kids will talk” by Sister Nuzhat Fatema Hassanali, for Parents
1:30 – 2 pm: Jamaat Salaat in Masjid e Ghadeer
2 – 2:30 pm: Q&A with Sister Nuzhat Fatema Hassanali

Details about Parent Workshop:
Topic: How to talk so kids listen, and listen so kids will talk.

Presenter Name: Nuzhat Fatema Hassanali RP (Qualifying).
Presentation Details: Helping parents understand the difference between helpful and unhelpful praise. Using alternatives to punishment to promote self-discipline. How to acknowledge Kid’s feelings using validation to improve communication. Opportunity for discussion after the workshop.

Request to return any Tarbiyyah Band C-F textbooks that were loaned from previous years to the Coordinators desk.

Challenge Zone

Annual Quran Recitation for Ahlul Bayt (a) and Marhumeen

As in past years, all students, parents, and volunteers are welcome to join us and share in the recitation of the Holy Quran during the month of Ramadan. This year, we’re dedicating the recitation as follows:
– gift to Ahlul Bayt (a)
– thawab for all volunteers who have passed away
– thawab for all Marhumeen of Al-Haadi family and for those who don’t have anyone to pray for them.

Community Service Award Challenge

The month of Ramadhan provides many opportunities for students to volunteer at the mosques. Note that the time period for students to accumulate hours for this year’s Community Service Award is ending on May 31st, 2023. See flyer for details about this award.
